LA BOCA
La Boca is the
old harbour from the beginning of the century, where many
inmigrants, mainly coming from Italy and Spain, but also
from other european countries and Syria. The famous 'coventillos"
, communal houses where all the newly arrived used to
live.
The houses are made of wood and zinc, and
decorated with ship paint. That is why you can see the
colourful aspect of this typical neighbourhoud. The
Tango gives this area a particular aspect and melancholy.
VUELTA
DE ROCHA
Once upon a time a meeting point for
people from Genoa, Italy. They used to meet and remeber
their homeland, that is why is is called "Plazoleta
de los Suspiros" (Sigh square). Actually you can
find an artisanal fair.
CAMINITO
In the past there was the train
running. Today is a traditional area where plastic artists
paint "La Boca" sights and motives. Open every
day from 10 am to 6 pm.
QUINQUELA
MARTIN MUSEUM
In this building lived
and worked the famous painter Benito Quinquela Martín,
who described with nostalgic magic the life of the harbour
and the inmigrants workers. Here is located the big museum
of La Boca. More than 1000 pieces of collection, including
paintings, sculptures, engravings from many masters. Also
parts of vessels, schooners and notorious boats.

One of the most important soccer club
in Argentina. You can visit every day from 10am to 6 pm.
