PALERMO
Palermo is the biggest district in Buenos
Aires. Also the one with more green places, parcs,
woods and squares. In the XVIth century used to be a huge
filed dedicated to fruit and vineyards, belonging to Juan
Domingues Palermo, where its name comes from.
You can find culture, amusement, sports and a wide variety
of restaurants.
"Palermo Chico", famous for its chic residences
and manor houses (between Figueroa Alcorta Ave. and Del
Libertador Ave.) . In the north side you can find the
Lagos de Palermo (Palermo Lakes), one of the most favourites
walks of the 'porteños' (citizens of
Buenos Aires). You can visit also the Zoo, the exotic
Jardín Japonés (Japanese Garden), the famous
Planetario (Planetarium Galileo Galilei), the Hippodrome,
the Polo Stadium and the ancient and magnificent Jardín
Botánico (Botanical Garden), amongst others.
Palermo is divided in "Palermo Chico", "Palermo
Viejo" (or Palermo) and other new names as the young
"Las Cañitas", "Palermo Hollywood"
and "Palermo Soho", where you can find an important
choice of restaurants, from international cuisine, thematic
pubs, lounges, literary cafe's and all the avant-garde
regarding desing and fashion (specially in Palermo Soho).
In other words, the "place" of the young and
alternative design of
Buenos Aires.
BUENOS
AIRES ZOO
Founded by President Sarmiento in 1874 and transfer to
private hands on 1990. It has 18 hectares with more than
2500 animals from 350 different types. It is remarkable
the architectural aspect of the pavilions, all of them
built taking consideration of the origin and natural habitat
of the animals. It has also a big aquarium where you can
see shows with seals.
Address: Avenida Sarmiento 2827. Tuesday till Sundays
from 10 am till 7 pm. Free entrance for children under
13. Don't forget to pay a visit!

PALERMO FOREST
Avenida Casares and Avenida de Libertador.
Is the 'lung' of our city. A forest with about 50 hectares
and 3 lakes. You can see the "Rosedal", the
bridge, the poets' garden with sculptures dedicated
to famous writers; the "Patio Andaluz" a gift
from the City of Sevilla, etc. You can sail with small
boats in the lakes.Ideal for walking, running, boat
sailing, cycling and sun bathing. Please consider to
take a complete day to pay a visit here. You can also
take a tour of the Lakes by surrounding them by car.

BOTANICAL
GARDEN
Project
and design of Architect Carlos Thays in 1891. It has 8000
differents sorts of plants from every place of the Earth.
A total of 8 hectares with a big greenhouse, the school
of Botanics and a Centre of technical documentation. Address:
Avenida Santa Fe 3951. Phone: 4831-4614 . Free entrance
every day from 10 am till 6 pm.
GALILEO
GALILEI PLANETARY
Built
in 1966 by architect Jan de Enrique. The 20 metres dome
is design to project astronomical eductational movies.
The dome imitates a planet where you can see the films.
You can see till 8900 specific stars, constellations and
novas.

Its
a typical oriental landscape with quaint bridges esplanades
and a small lake with carps fish that you can find.
