typical place full of history and personality. In the
XIXth century was the residence of the high class of Buenos
Aires. At the end of the same century, an epidemic
of Yellow Fever force the inhabitants to emigrate to the
north side of the city, today Barrio Norte and Recoleta.
In the seventies started the restoration and recovery
of the neighbourhoud, very rich in architecture and art
movement regarding new tendencies. Bohemian area, today's
one of the most important market regarding antiquities,
with more than 500 shops where you can find all what you
can imagine, and not.
You can find also a wide range of restaurants, pubs and
tango clubs. Visiting San Telmo is like going to the past,
enjoy the typical colonial houses, the stone streets and
ancient atmosphere which represents our historical values.
SAN TELMO FAIR
You
can find it in Plaza Dorrego, Humberto Primo street and
Defensa street, every sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Famous
because its excentricity and huge offer of antiques, china,
postcards, keys, tango discs and bronze. More than 5000
people visit it every sunday.
Another attraction is the people and the market, with
tango dancers, musicians, actors and typical shows. Don't
forget it in your time you are in our city! .
MODERN ART MUSEUM
1500 masterpieces
of modern art, sketches, paintings, photo's, sculptures
and alternative art. Dalí, Matisse, Miró,
Kandinsky, Picasso amongst others are represented, as
well as argentinian masters like Xul Xolar, Pettorutti,
Soldi, etc. It is located in a former tobacco factory.

NATIONAL
HISTORICAL MUSEUM
The historical spirit of the Argentina
Republic from the pre-hispanic period till the Universal
Suffrage Act from 1912 (Sáenz Peña Act).
Objects belonging to our prominent men like maps, flags,
paintings, furniture, weapons, etc. Located in the wonderful
Plaza Lezama.
Open Tuesdays to Fridays from 11 am till 5 pm. Saturdays
from 3 pm till 6 pm. Sundays and public holidays from
2 pm till 6 pm. Fee: $ 1.- Address: Defensa 1600
TIPS TO SEE
SAN LORENZO PASSAGE
You can find a interesting house called "Casa Minima",
it only 2.10 meter wide, made by an entrance door and
a window with a small balcony. Property of a freed slave,
before the slavery abolition in 1816. The house is closed
and you can see only the front. Address: Pasaje San
