TIGRE
& ZONA NORTE
A few kms from the Capital, on the banks of the Rio de
la Plata (River Plate) is located a characteristic residential
and tourist area of the Gran Buenos
Aires (the outskirts of Buenos
Aires) .
Far North you find the Parana Delta, Tigre Delta (called
simply Tigre), a group of islands, natural reserve and
wildlife. River, channels, big trees, fruits and nice
houses, boats, wharf and healthy life are found everywhere.
It is one of the few turistics Deltas in the world and
chosen destination for many people in the weekends.
From the city of Buenos
Aires to Tigre, are located the most importants districts:
San Fernando, San Isidro and Vicente López. Due
to be located nearby Buenos Aires many people lives there
and tourists pay short visits. San Fernando is the national
capital of Nautical (Argentina has 44 world champions
of yachting - click) ; San Isidro, national capital of
Rugby with important clubs famous worldwide.
PASEO VICTORICA
Promenade
Victorica ( Translated ) .
It is the coast walkway, street
and pedestrian way along the Luján River, ideal
to discover all the attractions offered by Tigre and
its Delta. Beautiful forests and riverside, besides
the gorgeous manors, most of them home of clubs as Regatas
La Marina, Rowing Club,Canottieri Italiani amongs others.
You find also the Nation Navy Museum and the recent
Art Museum of Tigre.
The Navy Museum has a broad collection of scale warships
and boats, different objects, uniforms and all about
the sea (+ info museum).
The Art Museum is located in a magnificent palace from
our glamorous past. You will find a singular collection
of argentinian and international artists.
You can reach Paseo Victorica by crossing the Rio Tigre
bridge, nearby the train station.
TIGRE RIVER STATION
From the River Station you have boats
which travel around the Delta, or you can choose for
more complete day tours or stay a weekend with a wide
range of options.
EVERY TOURIST MUST TO VISIT THE DELTA. Don't forget
your camera. Highly recommendable!
PORT OF FRUITS
The Port of Fruits is nowadays a big
artisanal and craftwork market (some of them native)
and, less today, the former fruits and woods market
of the Delta.
Typical are the switch baskets (mimbreria) and every
kind of sweets.
Tigre is not only nature but also amusement: the mega
Casino Trilenium with more than 80 tables, Roulette,
Black Jack, and Point Bank and 1500 slot machines distributed
in 20,000 square meters. The biggest casino in Latin
America. The Parque de la Costa (Coas Parc), with 15
hectares with games and amusement for kids and teenagers.
TREN
DE LA COSTA
Coast
Train (Translated ). Passenger train and turistic travelling
from the coast of the River Plate to the Tigre Delta.
Ideal to visit the north area river shore: San Fernando,
San Isidro and Olivos. Ticket to go out in every station
are available. Fairs in every station on sundays. San
Isidro station is plenty of resto's and bars.
AVENIDA DEL LIBERTADOR
CORRIDOR
If you have a car or even a bike,
Del Libertador avenue is a long road connecting every
place in the North Area of Buenos
Aires till Tigre. Ideal to drive it completelly,
you can see Olivos, San Isidro, San Fernando and reach
Tigre.
SAN
ISIDRO
We recommend to pay a visit to San
Isidro, specially the historic area. Part of our history
and witness of important events. Juan De Garay distributed
in 1580 this land.
In 1806 Santiago de Liniers looked for shelter, after
landing in Tigre to recover Buenos

QUINTA DE PUEYRREDON
Pueyrredón Country House
( Translated ).Country house property of Brigade Sergeant
Juan Martin de Pueyrredon. From 1944 the museum with
his name has different objest related to this person.Guests
like General Don Jose de San Martin, Sarmiento, Roque
Saenz Peña and others have been there. Address:
Rivera Indarte 48 - Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and
Sundays from 2pm till 6 pm. Highly recommendable!
SAN ISIDRO
CHATEDRAL
Built in 1898 in neogothic style.
It has 3 naves as a latin cross with circular upside.
The french organ is from 1906. Symbol of San Isidro.
ARTISANS FAIR OF SAN
ISIDRO
Classical promenade of San Isidro,
the Hippie fair or artisans fair is one of the oldest
in the north area. Every sunday. Highly recommendable!
